SESA is an engineering and consulting company, highly specialized in control applications for the iron and steel-industry, specifically long product rod and bar mills and reversing ingot and plate mills. Our experience started in 1975 with DC drives, hardwired solid state and relay logic and analog regulators. Over the years, we evolved and adapted the latest available technologies. Today, we provide advanced control solutions for the following:

Rod and Bar Mills:

• Mill setup and control environment, including mill control consoles, HMIs and data acquisition systems.
• Mill speed reference system, including interstand tension and loop control
• Crop and divide shear cut control and cooling bed length optimization
• Laying head - head-end positioning
• Finishing mill controls, including cooling bed, cold shear, bundling and strapping

Reversing Mills:

• Mill setup and control environment, including mill control consoles, HMIs and data acquisition systems.
• Automated bloom reversing mill control system, including bloom rotation and process tracking
• Saw cut-to-length system

Power Distribution and Drives:

SESA engineers and supplies power distribution and drive systems for rolling mills. We work closely with major electrical suppliers and have developed expertise in the application of latest AC drive technologies.

Installation Engineering:

SESA has extensive experience in installation engineering for the steel industry. We have engineered installations of power substations, arc furnaces, casters and rolling mills, including auxiliary services such as Baghouses, Water and Hydraulic systems.

Process and Budget Studies:

SESA has an extensive knowledge of the rolling process, and conducts process and electrical budget studies for upgrades and new plants.
